Family Summer Bucket List 2022

summer bucketlist for the whole family

Last Summer we were all quarantined, so our bucket list was to just stay home and stay safe and healthy. Even though, the pandemic is still going on and lockdowns are still going on. We have more flexibility this year to be out and about more. That is music to all of our ears especially if you have little kids. It inspired me to make a Summer bucket list so we can make the best out of this Summer and create memories with my family. I want the same for you all because we all deserve to enjoy this summer so I decided to share a general Summer bucket list that any family can have. The bucket list is below and I also made a free printable if you like checking things off with a pen to paper like I do!

Summer Bucket List 2022 For The Entire Family

Take a trip to all the playground parks in your area:

Where my stay at home moms at? This is a fun idea to change things up so you aren’t going to the same park over and over again. You can pull up on the different parks in your area and visit each one all throughout the summer. It is a great way to find your kids favorite park and it’s so nice to have a change of scenery.

Beach Trip:

Who doesn’t love a beach trip? We live a few hours from sandy beaches so it’s a whole planned trip that we do every Summer. It’s so special and the boys absolutely love going to the beach. You can do a day trip or make it a little weekend vacay!

Go to a state park and have a picnic:

I love a good family picnic. I love having picnics at State parks because they are always so nice and have a ton of space so it is never too crowded. You could do the same thing at the playground park above and list out all your state parks and visit each one.

Go Camping:

I am a huge fan of camping. I love nature and just being unplugged from daily life. No electronics and just good quality family time. I am hoping this year now that the boys are older, we can actually camp over the weekend.

Go to the Farmer’s Market:

Every year we go to the Farmer’s Market. It’s like going to a candy store for me and the boys love it too. They love being outside and I love to shop.

Plan a Vacation:

Depending on your comfort level, you can plan a family vacation out of state or somewhere different in your state. It is always so nice to just get out of your town and go stay somewhere different if you have the time and the finances to do so. A tropical vacation is calling my name but I don’t know if we are ready to travel quite yet.

Go to the Zoo/Aquarium:

I have always love going to the Zoo ever since I was little but it is SO much more fun with my boys. So it is a must every Summer to take to them to the zoo.

Have a BBQ or two:

We LOVE having bbq’s every Summer with our friends and family. We didn’t get to have any last Summer so I am thrilled to put them on again!

Go to the Children’s Museum or any Museum:

I love taking my boys to new places with lots of fun and activities. We love the Children’s Museum and is always one of our go to places during the Summer. I would also love to take the boys to a new museum we have never gone to (but they may be too young yet).

Pool Days:

Oh, give me ALL the pool days. We got a pool this year for the boys and I am beyond excited to use it. Don’t have room for a pool? You can get a sprinkler pad or a kiddie pool that is just as fun for hot summer days.

Go bowling:

I have not yet done this with my family but I am thinking that my boys are old enough now. So this is a must do on our summer bucket list.

Gardening:

This may be more of a spring thing but you can also garden during the summer. My boys love to help us garden and it’s something my husband and I really enjoy. You can make a whole day of it.

Road Trip:

Road trips can be tricky with little ones but it’s really nice to go somewhere different and somewhere new. Road trip to a nearby city and check out all the activities/events they have to offer. Make a whole day out of it.

Hiking:

Hiking is one of my favorite summer activities and it is one we have not done since we had our boys. So this is an absolute must do this summer for us. You can go once or find a bunch of different hikes and plan to go on every weekend or every other weekend during the summer.

Lake day:

Lake days are so much fun. We don’t have a boat yet but you can still enjoy lake days. Rent a house on the lake or just go to a public lake and make a whole day out of it. Picnic, floaties, sunshine, swimming, and loads of fun.

Camp fire and smores:

Make a fire pit in your backyard and roast some marshmallows and stargaze. Tell some stories around the fire and have good old quality family time.

Go to garage sales:

This is so fun and something I love doing the summer. I love finding some deals and hidden gems in garage sales.

Go out for some ice cream or frozen yogurt:

It’s not summer without getting some ice cream or frozen yogurt. It’s just a fun family activity that we all enjoy and definitely a must do.

Eat popsicles outside:

This is for all you toddler parents. This always makes my boys day and it’s something so simple. We all have popsicles outside and it’s just a fun summer memory to have.

Wash the cars:

This is such a fun family activity that is perfect for summer and is a parent win. You get the cars washed and your kids get to have fun making a soapy mess.

Go to a baseball game:

My husband and I love going to baseball games…so many great memories. We have yet to go to a baseball game as a family of four.
