Woolino Sleep Sack: A Must Have Product for Every Parent

If you stumbled across this post, then like me…you have probably been tirelessly looking for the best sleep sack for your child. Or maybe your baby is ready to ditch the swaddle but still sleeps terrible without it. I see you mama. I was there. Both my boys have been terrible sleepers however they each had different challenges. My first was easy to transition out of the swaddle and could sleep at night in just his pajamas but slept in a sleep sack for naps. My second boy didn’t sleep well swaddled but slept worse without one. He started rolling over at three months so we had to get rid of the swaddle cold turkey and it was rough!

The longest stretch we got from him unswaddled was maybe four hours and then up every two hours after that. I was searching left and right for a sleep sack that would maybe help him sleep better. In my search, I came across a brand called Woolino. They had amazing reviews from many other mamas. But what really made me want to try their product is that their sleep sack provided a lot more than many other sleep sacks on the market.

We have been using the Woolino sleep bag for about a week now and LOVE it. Before I get into my review of their product, I want to go over the reasons for wanting to try this sleep bag out.

Disclosure: I was gifted the sleep bag from Woolino in exchange for a blog review post. As always, these opinions expressed in this review are all my own. I only work with brands because they are products I have used and loved or products I want to try.

A Little About The Brand Woolino

Woolino was started by a mom who had a little experience with babies who wouldn’t sleep well and couldn’t find sleepwear that was both safe and comfortable. From her experience outdoors, she realized the perfect fabric that would be best for a baby sleep bag. And so was born the Woolino brand.

Woolino’s sleep bags are made from merino wool (hence the cute name). Merino wool is the finest and softest wool on the planet making it comfortable and breathable for baby to wear. It’s natural, versatile,  and reusable.

Woolino stands by their products so much so that you have 30 days to return the product if it does not meet your standards or your needs (love, love, love this about their company).

Why I chose Woolino

The Sleep Bag Grows with Your Baby

I love, love, love this feature. Every other sleep bag on the market typically only lasts for three months. So your stuck buying multiple sleep bags which is what we did with Luke. The sleep bag that we got is good from two months to twenty four months. Two whole years!

Temperature Regulation

This was huge for me and a BIG reason why I said yes to this sleep bag. I have always struggled with worrying if my boys would get too hot or too cold with the sleep bags. I have found two different fabrics of sleep bags (we have used Halo in the past) either fleece or cotton. Cotton is too cold for winter and fleece is too hot for summer so you have to end up purchasing both. It is so nice to not have to worry about the temperature. Merino wool helps keep your baby warm when it’s cool and cool when it’s hot. I love this feature because it eliminates the worry of wondering if your baby is too hot or too cold.

Maximum Comfort for baby

I also loved that the sleep bag is made with premium fabric. As mentioned above, the merino wool is super soft. It’s also made with organic cotton. It’s hypoallergenic which is so important to me because Levi has sensitive skin. The merino wool is naturally anti-bacterial and odor repellent which means the sleep bag stays fresher for longer.

Now that you know a little about them and the reasons I wanted to try their sleep sack, let’s get to how it’s been working for us and my thoughts on the product.

My Review of the Four Seasons Sleep Bag from Woolino

Initial Thoughts:

It is super cute and so soft. It is thick and long. The quality is amazing and is the nicest sleep sack/bag we have ever owned. It came with a thermometer for the room and recommendations on what to dress your baby in depending on what temperature the room is at. I thought that was such a neat feature because I always struggled with what to put my boys in especially since we had a fleece halo sack.

The sleep bag also has a unique feature that no other sleep bag has which allows you to travel with the sleep bag on your baby. There is an opening on both sides to pull the buckle through. I actually used it today because we had a doctors appointment for Luke (my oldest son) and I had to wake up Levi for a nap. I kept him in his sleep sack so he could stay comfy and less cranky. The transition was a lot smoother rather than having to completely wake him up.

The sleep bag also has smaller snaps for smaller babies which I use for Levi so it stays snug on him then we gets bigger I can leave them unsnapped. It also has a two way zipper allowing for easy diaper changes in the middle of the night. I love this especially since Levi likes to poop at 5 a.m. in the morning most days. There are also shoulder snaps for easy dressing.

Thoughts After Using it for a Week

We have been using the Four Seasons Sleep Bag for Levi for a week now for naps and at night. It has been so great. I LOVE the functionality of it. It’s super easy to slip on and off. I LOVE that I don’t have to worry about whether he too hot or too cold. I LOVE that it is safe for sleeping while getting that comfort a blanket provides.

I will say that don’t expect your baby to sleep through the night. Every baby is different and sleep is dependent on SO many factors. When we first put him in the sleep sack (it was at night), he didn’t sleep any better. He woke up at his normal times. However, his naps the following day were longer and the nights that followed were better. He started having longer stretches of sleep. He still feeds once throughout the night and then again around 6 am. I don’t know if it had anything to do with the Woolino sleep bag but I’ll take it! Before he was waking up 2-3 times a night!

Also, I can rest assured knowing that the cause of his wake ups aren’t because he is too cold or too warm. We have a fan going for background noise and prior to using this sleep bag, he would be cold when I picked it up to feed him but sleeps worse without the fan. Now when I go into feed him, he feels warm. Not too cold or too hot.

There have also been times throughout the night where I will hear him fuss and he is able to put himself to sleep for a few more hours which is a huge change from before. He would just cry and cry until I came to nurse him. I knew he wasn’t hungry but just needed to nurse for comfort. So he definitely does settle more easily at night and for naps.

The Woolino sleep bag is a little pricier than a typical sleep bag (typical being the keyword). I will say however it is worth the investment. Like mentioned above, it isn’t your typical sleep bag. It’s good for two years (which will end up saving money since you don’t have to buy 3+ sleep sacks) plus you are getting such great natural and organic fabric. Plus, all the amazing benefits mentioned above.

I hope my review helps make your decision on what type of sleep bag to purchase. I highly recommend Woolino and wish I would have had it for my first. You can find their four seasons sleep bag on their website linked here: www.woolino.com. They have many other products as well that is worth checking out. 1. The sleep bag does look really comfy! I actually didn’t use sleep bags for All three kids but I think I’m gonna share with this my sister in law who gave birth to twins two weeks ago!

    1. It feels super comfy, sort wish they made an adult size. ha ha Thank you so much for reading and sharing!!

  2. Thanks for this great info! Babies are accustomed to tight places (like the womb), so they do sleep better when snuggled. This would make a great gift for a mom-to-be.

    1. Yes, I agree! Thank you for reading. 🙂

  3. This sleep bag sounds good. When my daughter was a baby, I used Halo sleep sacks, but the fleece one was way too hot, so I only used it once. It didn’t take her long to grow out of the cotton one and I never bothered to by another one as she got bigger. I like the idea of only having to buy one not only for the changing of the seasons, but for growth as well. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Yes, I had the same exact issues! Those two characteristics alone of the Woolino sleep bag is what sold me on it! Thanks for reading! 🙂
